    • 1.Obituary of J.W. Caudill from The Mountain Eagle, July 14, 1938: J. W. Caudill, age 66, well known farmer of Cotton Patch of Kingdom Come, died Sunday, July 10, 1938 at 11:30 am. He was the son of Wattie Caudill and Rachel Hampton Caudill. Early in life he was married to Mary Miller, the daughter of Johnny Miller. To this union were born 5 boys and four girls, Prince, of Harlan Co., Silar, Johnny, Watson, Rachel, Gemela, Sarah and George Henry, all of Letcher Co., who survive him. He was widely known throughout the county a nd took great interest in farming and agricultural work. He spent all of his life in Letcher Co. and had many friends in his community. He was a member o f the Big Cowan Old Regular Baptist Church for many years. Funeral services were held at the home Monday, July 11, at 3:30 by Elders Felix Feilds and John D. Ison with interment in the family cemetery just below the home.
