Pearl and Harry worked at the Otterbein Home (Methodist) and he did the f
arming and she worked in the kitchen and nursery. They were friends of t
he administrator of Otterbein and the Pythian Home and then they got a j
ob at the Pythian Home in Springfield, Oh where her siblings lived. Pea
rl worked in the nursery her sister worked in there with her. Then they w
ent to Washington State and lived in a little house then went to live in t
he Veteran's Home. Harry and Pearl were able to live there because he h
ad been in the Spanish War. They had had twins (boy and girl) and when th
ey were five they burned to death in a fire in the barn. The little boy w
as playing with matches.
