From Historical Register of Officers of the Continental Army by Heitman:
",,, Taken prisoner at Fort Mercer Oct 22, 1777. Served subsequently as Chaplain in Virginia state Regiment from May 1779 to feb 10, 1781."
Commanded by Col. Daniel Morgan at Brandywine.
From Revolutionary Soldiers, Vol. IV, VA State Library :
"He received the balance of his full pay as chaplain on April 4, 1783, the money being received by General Morgan."
From Rev. Records Section, Bureau of Pensions:
"... he was captured and imprisoned in Philadelphia until the beginning on 1779"
