- 2. James Washington2 CAUDLE (1.Richard1) was born 20 Dec 1835 in Halifax County, VA. He was the son of Richard CAUDLE and Rebecca CHILDRESS. James died 10 Mar 1918 in King, NC, at the age of 82.
NOTES for James:
James Washington and Fanny also had three children who died in infancy. James was a Civil War veteran. The story handed down is that whenever "Dixie" was played, he would jump up and kick his heels together. When he died at age 82, he had a total of 136 children, grandchildren, and great?grandchildren. He is buried in the cemetery of the First Baptist Church in King, NC. (on Kirby Road).
He married Mary Francis WATTS 1860 in Halifax County, VA. She was born 26 Dec 1847 in Virginia. She was the daughter of William Henry WATTS and Eliza ELAM. Mary died 20 Nov 1920, at the age of 72.

Mary Francis "Fanny" is also buried in the cemetery at the First Baptist Church in King, NC (on Kirby Road).
