1.PHEBE CAUDILL was born July 8th, 1879. Died July 29, 1900, age 21 years and 21 days. She was a daughter of James T. And Elvira Caudill. Married Mr. Lonnie Sheets May 20, 1899. She professed a hope in Christ and joined Landmark church Oct. 15, 1895 and was baptized Oct. 20, 1895 by Elders Isom Edwards and A. J. Wagoner. Sister Phebe honored that profession and by her walks and Godly conversation proved to the world that she was a child of God. While her seat is vacant in the church and her tongue is silent in the home her spirit is shouting the praised of God around that Celestial Throne in heaven. Sad! But true her stay with her husband was short, only about 11 months, when she had to bid him adieu. We can only say to the bereaved try to meet that dear sister where parting is no more. As a child she was obedient, as a wife she was true, as a christian she was faithful, and is now resting from all her labors in the sweet bye and bye.

The information I Have on John Michael is from Charlene Cordle Malone who is the Great grand daughter of Greenville Cordle
Also she states there were 16 children in this family.
John Michael Caudill (Cordial/Cordle), 1829 ~ ? & Mary Ann "Polly" Moore, 1845~abt 1912. John Michael Caudill (Cordial/Cordle) was born in 1829. He was the son of William Cordle and Jane Wheeler. He married first to Jane "Jennie" McKinster about 1848. From the Appalachia Crossroads, by Clayton Cox: "John served in the Civil War as a Union Army Scout. Per family tradition, during the war he was allowed to go home for three days due to illness of his wife. The first day he buried Jane, who died during childbirth. The second day he buried one of the twins of this birth, and the third day he buried the second twin. Then he left the other children with a relative (?sister) and he returned to war.
While still in the army, John married a second time in Lawrence County, Kentucky, April 18, 1863, to Mary "Polly" Moore, who died ca 1912. His daughter, Nancy, related to her granddaughter, Mrs. Nancy Bassett, that her father had twenty-five children by his two wives, but several died young, and several times there were twins in the family. Sixteen of the children were by his second wife. John and Mary are buried on a hill between Cordell and Tarkiln, Kentucky." Information from Appalachia Crossroads , by Clayton Cox.
